Transcript – 3 Phase Flow Assessment with Fiber Optics Sensor
Hello, my name is Mohammad Rahman. Today, I will present three face flu assessment with the fiber optic sensor. Fiber optic sensor is basically distributed fiber optic cables. These sensors provide real time and continuous measurement over the Internet of the fiber cables. The technology is inexpensive as well as very accurate monitoring for temperature and acoustic measurement. So in the image you can see that there is a single point versus the distributed measurement, as I said, that technology has a good potential for temperature, pressure and acoustic measurement. So this technology is being currently used in the petroleum industry and Buffalonian will be used for measuring the temperature, pressure and strain. But this technology has potential to measure the multi-phase process, to identify the different paradigm such as Bubley, Slughorn and blood flow. So in the technology, in this technology, the optical balls are released into the fiber backscatter light. Come to the interrogator and it may just temperature and acoustic signal. So when we measure the temperature, it works based on romance. Sputtering and scattered photons have the same low energy wavelength, color and frequency of being incident and photons. Whereas we want if we want to measure the acoustic signal, then it works on really scattering. And the Reneke photons have the same energy, wavelength, color and frequency of the incident photon. But it has a different direction and faces and intensity. So in summary, that this technology has a potential for Temperton acquisition we currently, but it can be extended to multiphase for measurement and characterization as well as it has a very high resolution and very high sampling rate. A decent energy can be used in high temperature and high pressure conditions as well as, you know, for complex fluids. But we need more experimental data for developing this technology as well as the field. And finally, we would like to acknowledge Texas A&M for providing a grant. And thank you very much.
