Transcript – Intelligent GPR Semi-Autonomous UAV in 3D Internal Structural Analysis of Buildings

Structural analysis of buildings is an important task because it can reduce a possibility of catastrophic damage. Hello, this is Dr. Hur for this T-3 project. Dr. Ryoo from Construction Science and Dr. Zhan from Engineering Technology Department have formed a team with three faculty members, have been collaborating to create a custom semi-autonomous VIVIE for building alliances with GPS. GPS is a ground penetrating radar. It is a device that can perform nondestructive testing for the surface or this developing. To give it GPS would be an economical solution to measure the status of infrastructures without the interruptions of transportation networks, water or gas systems. For the initial phase, we have set a flight pattern for scanning building surface as shown in Figure 1. The drone is scanning the water as it rises already sends. The of the AP was designed to be safe having the propellor GA’s, the flight testing and aviation control screen as shown in Figure 3 for the broader and educational impact T-3 team has extended the effort in creating an educational platform for the building structure analysis, as shown in the Figure for this system, can measure strain and stress on the structure as well as to measure sensor data. As of today, eight undergrad engineering students have involved in this T3 project the three team members expressed gratitude to the T3 president’s excellence fund for the generous support of this work.
